Amanda Aplin, Consultant, State Service Management Office
Amanda Aplin has led major work on reducing occupational violence and aggression and improving recruitment processes for the WoG Graduate Program, and been the SSMO representative and the administrator for the PageUp system and jobs website within her first three years with the State Government.
She has demonstrated strong leadership qualities which came to the fore when the PageUp security breach occurred earlier in the year. This breach had a major impact for agencies and Amanda worked hard and long hours to support agencies through this issue, with many commenting how she maintained calmness, courtesy and did not lose her sense of humour during this episode. Many interim processes and systems were devised by Amanda to keep things moving for agencies during this very stressful period.
Amanda has provided supervision and informal mentoring to new staff at the cadet and graduate level. She had developed her skills to be the expert in her office in PageUp and coordinates a user group across government. Amanda reflects the core values of the State Service to a high degree.
